Emerson is seeking a Proposals Engineer to develop Ovation-based solutions for New Generation Power Projects. This hybrid role involves collaborating with sales, marketing, and engineering teams, reviewing customer specifications, and developing optimal project cost structures. The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Engineering or a related STEM field and experience with controls and automation systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare DCS proposals for new generation power projects in response to customer requests.
Review customer specifications and confirm compliance.
Collaborate across teams to validate technical feasibility, engineering requirements, and cost‑effective solutions.
Engage directly with customers to communicate Emerson’s capabilities and understand application needs.
Develop optimal project cost structures that mitigate technical risk and strengthen competitive positioning.
Partner effectively with sales, engineering, project teams, and global offices to deliver cohesive proposal packages.

Requirements

BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with controls and automation (DCS/PLC/SCADA) systems.
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Desired Qualifications

2+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge in proposal development, cost estimating, project management, or project engineering.
Experience with the Ovation DCS platform.
Experience preparing technical compliance clarifications and exceptions.
Experience working across a variety of groups in a large organization.
Demonstrate the need to know the latest on new technologies and make learning a priority.
