We are seeking a Proposal Engineer in Pune with 3-5 years of experience in proposal or project management, preferably in rotating machinery. The role involves acting as the primary contact for RFQ/new project requests, translating customer needs into our product portfolio, and providing technically sound and commercially viable quotations for compressed air systems.

Responsibilities

Act as the first point of contact for customer centers and customers for RFQ/new project requests.
Evaluate customer/end user RFQ requirements and specifications independently.
Translate customer needs to our product portfolio.
Estimate project feasibility with the team and internally agree on project handling.
Provide technically correct & commercially valid quotations utilizing company processes.
Understand Compressed Air system applications and provide Pre-Calculation, Selection, and sizing of equipment.
Work with Sales/Customer Centre teams for equipment selection and propose complex system designs.
Prepare costing sheets for the entire package.
Lead, organize, and coordinate assigned proposal work.
Manage multiple proposal requests from different customers and sales.
Balance and manage cost pressure from customer requests and internal execution.
Prepare bought-out item RFQs, evaluate sub-vendor offers, and recommend vendors.
Maintain an overview of current quotations and monitor status.
Maintain project proposal files and records on common server & Project Management System software.
Ensure a smooth transfer to the Projects/Contracts team upon ordering.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of experience in Proposal - project management/engineering, preferably in Rotating Machinery Background.
University degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical / Electrical).
Sound knowledge and experience on Screw & centrifugal compressors, dryers, Gas Generators.
Knowledge of Reciprocating compressor.
Sound Knowledge of Electrical Equipment drawings (VFD, Control Panel, Distribution Board, Cabling etc) & Instrumentation & Control drawings/documents.
Good Command (Verbal & Written) of English is a must.
Able to read & understand P&ID, GA, Layouts, Installation, System architect etc.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office.
Sound Technical & commercial knowledge of Engineered rotary equipment.
Able to work under pressure & plan & organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
Able to work on multiple projects by giving due importance to each project.
Working knowledge of ASME/API/TEMA/IEC/IS/DIN/ ATEX/CCOE and other international Codes.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of pressure vessels and heat exchanger is an added advantage.
Pro-active, positive team player with good interpersonal skills, strong in communication and people oriented.
Technical, commercial, and organizational insight.
Able to adapt in a new environment.
Self-motivated, independent, flexible, well organized, and methodical.
Accurate and diligent with an awareness to speed up execution within a pressurized environment.
