This role focuses on ensuring compliance with EPR regulations for waste streams like packaging, electronics, and batteries. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, automation, and cost reduction initiatives within compliance workflows and appeals handling.
Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in compliance workflows, focusing on reducing seller burden, improving automation, and scaling across new regulations.
- Drive automation of appeals handling to reduce cost to serve while maintaining reinstatement accuracy and seller satisfaction.
- Track and analyze appeals metrics including appeal rates, reinstatement rates, first contact resolution, and time to resolution to identify opportunities for automation.
- Drive UX improvements that reduce seller confusion, repeat contacts, and unnecessary appeals related to EPR enforcement actions.
- Implement automation processes that reduce manual investigation effort and improve consistency of appeal outcomes.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives within the appeals lifecycle, targeting reduction in repeat contacts and contacts per issue.
Requirements
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
- Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Experience interacting with local food safety regulators.
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials.
- Experience with SQL and Excel.
