Responsibilities
- Ownership for overall system architecture, technology, scalability, reliability, and performance for key AIP services in Automotive.
- Demonstrate technology thought leadership directly with AWS customers and at Industry Events.
- Facilitate technical collaboration across AIP services and work with other PEs across AIP and Amazon.
- Mentor and develop engineers, help define and grow the technical culture, and assist in attracting and retaining top engineering talent.
- Demonstrate both Amazon LP's and Amazon Principal Engineering Tenets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 7+ years of designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for organizations of 30+ engineers.
- Proven track record of delivering high-performance data systems that put data directly into the hands of sophisticated customers through programmatic interfaces.
- Experience presenting technical strategies to senior executive leadership.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with advertising or retail technology platforms or large-scale reporting systems.
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (S3, EMR, SQS, Kinesis, Firehose).
- Publications, talks, or recognized thought leadership in distributed systems.
- Experience mentoring engineers to Staff/Principal level.
- Track record of building consensus across organizations with competing technical priorities.
