Microsoft is seeking a Principal Engineering Manager to lead a team in developing AI agent foundational connectors for the Power Platform. This hybrid, full-time role involves hands-on technical leadership, architectural design, and managing product delivery to empower organizations with AI-driven automation and security at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of high-performing individuals to deliver product and features with agility and quality.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership: architecture, design, code reviews, development, quality assurance.
  • Lead by example to integrate AI first development in the team.
  • Partner with stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios.
  • Drive identification of dependencies and development of design documents.
  • Direct experimentation to determine effectiveness of changes and interpret results.
  • Drive identification of correct metrics for experimentation to improve customer value.
  • Lead by example and mentor others to produce extensible and maintainable code.
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise with stakeholders to drive project and release plans.
  • Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers, and working on-call to monitor systems.
  • Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends and technical solutions to improve product availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years people management experience.
  • Experience in developing large scale, distributed, back end applications including handling live site and operational load of backend services.
