Master Thesis Segmentation and Planning
Logistics, Sales & Operations · Supply Chain & Transport · Logistics Management
In short
Join Ericsson for a Master Thesis focusing on supply-chain planning segmentation and methodology selection. Develop a framework to assign products and segments to appropriate planning approaches, optimizing performance and costs. This role requires a background in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Investigate how products and supply-chain segments can be systematically classified and assigned to appropriate supply-chain planning methodologies.
- Develop a conceptual and practically applicable framework for determining segmentation dimensions and criteria to select appropriate planning methodologies (e.g., supply network planning, MRP, DDMRP, finite-capacity planning, hybrid approaches).
- Define performance metrics to govern and evaluate whether a selected methodology delivers the expected business outcomes.
- Potentially combine a literature review with empirical analysis of supply-chain, inventory, demand, and planning data.
- Employ relevant methods such as segmentation analysis, clustering, decision trees, multicriteria decision analysis, optimization, simulation, cost-benefit analysis, and stakeholder interviews.
- Support fact-based decisions on where to standardize, automate, differentiate, simplify, or change planning methodologies.
Requirements
- Suitable background: Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, MRP, DDMRP, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and data analysis is advantageous.
Benefits
- An outstanding opportunity to use your skills and imagination.
- The chance to build solutions never seen before.
- Be challenged but not alone; join a team of diverse innovators.
- Join a company that champions diversity and inclusion.
