Master's thesis opportunity focusing on securing Agentic AI. The student will explore AI's impact on authentication, authorization, and digital trust, investigating emerging security challenges and market opportunities at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, and product innovation within HID's Authentication business. Work will be primarily on-site in Liljeholmen, Stockholm, during the spring semester of 2027.

Responsibilities

Exploring how AI agents are changing authentication, authorization and digital trust
Investigating emerging security challenges around agents acting on behalf of people
Conducting customer and market research to understand needs, use cases and willingness to pay
Mapping relevant technologies, approaches and market developments
Identifying and evaluating potential opportunities for new authentication capabilities
Translating findings into recommendations and potentially a product concept

Requirements

Master’s student in Industrial Engineering & Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business & Technology, or a related program
Genuine interest in cybersecurity
Understanding of AI and agentic AI fundamentals
Analytical, curious, and comfortable exploring unknown problem spaces
Enjoy speaking with people, testing assumptions and turning complex findings into clear recommendations
