This Master Thesis project explores the use of generative AI for authoring, troubleshooting, and verifying network device configuration templates. The work involves building an automatic judge for template evaluation and developing AI pipelines for these tasks, with opportunities for specialization in areas like template generation, failure diagnosis, and real-world applicability. The position is an on-site internship in Karlskrona, Sweden, starting January 2027.

Responsibilities

Build an automatic judge to evaluate candidate network device configuration templates.
Develop and evaluate AI pipelines for template authoring and troubleshooting.
Explore areas such as generating templates from task descriptions, comparing with expert-written templates, and evaluating input information's impact.
Investigate feedback-driven retries for improving results.
Diagnose failing templates, propose fixes, and test them against faults with known corrections.
Categorize remaining failures and examine the correlation between simulation success and real device success.

Requirements

Knowledge in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with Scala or Java.
Experience with Python or a similar scripting language.
Interest in generative AI applications and APIs (Amazon Q, Gemini, ChatGPT).
Eagerness to learn and explore new concepts.

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with XML and Docker/Kubernetes is beneficial.
Interest in computer networks, developer tooling, and empirical evaluation.
No prior knowledge of network configuration protocols is required.
