Technology, Data & Digital · Software & Web Development · Software Engineering · Embedded Systems
In short
This Master's thesis project focuses on developing and evaluating a massively distributed wireless system simulator. You will prototype the simulator, design its deployment on Kubernetes, and analyze its scalability and performance. The role requires programming skills in Python, strong technical writing, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop a distributed wireless communications simulator prototype.
- Design and prototype a system for launching, monitoring, and terminating simulator components in a Kubernetes cluster.
- Evaluate key performance and scalability aspects of the simulator.
- Provide understanding of the trade-offs between single-machine and massive cluster execution.
- Document findings and prepare a thesis with recommendations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure technical feasibility.
Requirements
- Enrolled in or recently admitted to a Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming skills in Python.
- Solid technical writing and communication abilities.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with containerization platforms and related tools, e.g., Docker and Kubernetes.
- Wireless communication courses or experience.
- Simulation engineering skills or similar.
- Experience developing microservices for REST APIs.
Benefits
- Mentorship from experienced engineers.
- Chance to work with large-scale distributed systems.
