Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate an adaptive positioning framework combining information from multiple positioning technologies.
- Review recent research on indoor and outdoor positioning, including GNSS, cellular positioning, and Wi-Fi.
- Develop an adaptive framework for seamless positioning across different environments.
- Investigate methods for combining information from multiple positioning technologies.
- Evaluate the system in terms of positioning accuracy, reliability, and continuity.
- Validate the proposed approach through simulations under different user and environmental conditions.
- Analyze and discuss the results.
- Derive practical design guidelines for robust and ubiquitous positioning systems.
- Present and document findings in a Master’s thesis.
Requirements
- Motivated MSc student.
- Academic background in engineering physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong interest in wireless communications, signal processing, and positioning.
- Knowledge of programming and algorithm development using MATLAB or Python.
- Strong mathematical foundation.
- Knowledge of optimization and machine learning techniques.
- Ability to conduct systematic research and explore innovative solutions.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
