Saab's U.S. Surveillance division seeks a Manufacturing Program Manager in East Syracuse, NY to ensure programs meet schedule and financial objectives. The role involves managing program schedules, budgets, and resources, interfacing with various departments, and reporting project status to stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Develop and manage program schedules and budgets, understanding manufacturing metrics and financial practices.
- Collect and report project status to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Lead meetings and present results/updates during technical and program reviews.
- Support and manage subcontract management, purchasing, and program resource planning.
- Ensure compliance with Saab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Interface with Engineering, Contracts, Finance, Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), and Purchasing.
- Generate, track, and maintain program action items and risks using program management tools.
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing activities for assigned projects with Operations.
- Develop understanding of Saab's core competencies and products.
- Develop understanding of Saab's program management SOPs and Oracle-based ERP tools.
- Travel up to 10% annually.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in project management, manufacturing project management, and/or operations.
- Experience with cost accounting and reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Visio, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to multitask, stay highly organized, and demonstrate strong time management skills with a continuous desire to learn.
- Proactive with the ability to follow up on action items and requests.
- Results-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
