Amazon Business Operations is looking for a Software Development Manager to build and lead a new engineering team in Hyderabad focused on the commercial delivery experience. The role involves owning the technical roadmap for enterprise fulfillment solutions, including services for bulk buying, truckload delivery, and real-time risk scoring, and will require partnering with product, science, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of Software Development Engineers (SDEs), including hiring, onboarding, and defining team culture.
  • Own the technical roadmap for bulk buying fulfillment and delivery quality for AB customers.
  • Design and own the architecture for services integrating with existing Amazon systems like supply chain platforms and last mile driver tools.
  • Partner with product management, data science, BI, QA, and operations teams to align on priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Coach and develop engineers by setting expectations, providing feedback, and assigning challenging features.
  • Establish operational excellence mechanisms including CI/CD, on-call processes, SLA monitoring, and data quality validations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations).
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, describe features, designs, and strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, coaching, and managing Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
