Perform all-around maintenance and repair services in multiple crafts including electrical, carpentry, welding, and plumbing. This full-time, permanent role requires journey-level skills for diagnosis, emergency repairs, and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform all-around maintenance and repair services in electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and mill-wrighting at a moderately complex level.
- Apply journey level skills in a primary craft gained from practical experience.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities.
- Use expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs, provide preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
- Use all shop machinery and hand tools.
- Act as leader for less-skilled assistants.
- Consult with engineers and vendors.
- Carry out simple maintenance and repair tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision.
- Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting variables for efficiency.
- Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for routine enquiries.
- Perform simple quality sampling and inspection of products or processes.
- Follow mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and wellbeing.
- Carry out operational tasks by following established processes, potentially adjusting basic settings.
- Organize own work schedule daily in line with changing priorities.
- Follow mandatory procedures to ensure work quality and adherence to codes.
- Develop and maintain procedural or technical skills through training and coaching.
Requirements
- Upper Secondary School 3 education.
- Journey level skills in a primary craft gained from practical experience.
- In-depth understanding of maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities.
- Expertise for diagnosis and emergency repairs.
- Ability to use all shop machinery and hand tools.
- Ability to act as leader for less-skilled assistants.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under close supervision for simple tasks.
- Ability to operate various equipment and machines, adjusting variables for efficiency.
- Ability to assess compliance with standards and protocols.
- Ability to perform simple quality sampling and inspection.
- Ability to follow mandatory work instructions, including use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to carry out operational tasks by following established processes.
- Ability to organize own work schedule daily.
