Responsibilities
- Off-load and inspect product
- Place product in proper racks to ensure continuous operation
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area (5S)
- Assist in mill change over processes
- Perform TPM of process and equipment
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
- Perform visual quality checks for straightness, galv integrity, and length
- Work with maintenance to resolve issues
- Focus on mill production efficiency, problem resolution, and cost-saving opportunities
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using special measuring devices, calipers, and tape measure
- Ability to read part drawings for product inspections
- Roll Tooling experience with set ups and change over
- Demonstrated ability to meet negotiated time frames
- Forklift certification/experience
- Good communication skills
- Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
- Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities
