Seeking a self-motivated International Service Engineer for Water, Wind & Fuel systems in Singapore. This full-time, on-site role involves troubleshooting and field service for Alfa Laval systems on vessels, requiring 5+ years of experience and fluent English.
Responsibilities
- Carry out troubleshooting and field service requests for Alfa Laval Boiler System and other equipment on board vessels.
- Perform planned service, commissioning, and troubleshooting for systems like PureBallast, HSS, FCM, and FWG.
- Prepare for service jobs following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Travel domestically and internationally to service jobs on vessels, potentially sailing with them.
- Execute maintenance, repair, advanced troubleshooting, and commissioning onboard.
- Communicate effectively with customers in English to ensure clear understanding and satisfaction.
- Document all work performed and conclusions, ensuring service reports are signed by the customer.
- Identify potential improvements and sales leads, providing advice to customers.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of SOPs.
- Provide formal training to peers and customers, assisting in developing training material.
- Seek central support through ServiceNow or direct networking and share findings with the team.
- Respond to emergency service requests, providing timely technical support to minimize vessel downtime.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher; bachelor’s degree or similar in Marine Engineering is a plus.
- 5+ years field service experience on board vessels.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, as well as marine mechanical and electrical systems.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- Good cross-cultural communication skills.
- Experience working in an international context and across borders.
- Good reporting skills (using MS Word and Excel).
- Experience of working in CRM systems and planning tools.
- Understanding of marine separators, ballast treatment systems with electrical, mechanical and automation knowledge.
