In short

We are seeking a business-minded Group Legal Counsel to join Ericsson's Legal Affairs team, supporting the Enterprise Wireless Solutions (EEWS) business. This role focuses on commercial growth across EMEA and APAC, requiring expertise in technology transactions, data privacy, and AI law. You will provide legal support to sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams, working on a variety of legal matters and contributing to global initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and technology agreements (SaaS, software licence, hardware, OEM, reseller, distributor, MSP, NDA, marketing).
  • Provide legal guidance on commercial contracting, data privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and regulatory compliance across EMEA and APAC.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve legal playbooks, contract templates, and contracting processes.
  • Educate and train internal teams on legal, compliance, and contracting best practices.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives advancing EEWS's global growth strategy and innovation.
  • Collaborate with legal colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders globally.
  • Advise on relevant laws and regulations impacting EEWS's commercial activities.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships while balancing business strategy, commercial objectives, and legal risk.
  • Perform other legal responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer, admitted or licensed to practise law in a recognized jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as a fully licensed, practising lawyer.
  • At least 2 years working in-house at a technology company.
  • Substantial experience supporting SaaS, hardware, and/or enterprise software transactions.
  • Solid understanding of commercial contract law and experience negotiating commercial and technology transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and tackle unfamiliar legal issues.
  • Excellent communication, business acumen, and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, willingness to support and constructively challenge the business.
  • Proactive, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to problem-solving, bias toward action, and a good sense of humour.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a publicly traded company and/or a global, multinational organisation.
  • Familiarity with privacy laws and/or experience doing business with government customers is a bonus.
  • Experience with export controls, trade compliance, or sanctions regimes relevant to cross-border technology transactions.
  • Familiarity with indirect sales channel program structures, including reseller, distributor, and MSP arrangements.
  • Exposure to telecom or wireless industry regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with hardware-related legal matters, including supply chain, product warranty, or manufacturing agreements.
