Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial results for European entities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Produce clear and accurate financial reports for corporate finance and senior management.
  • Analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and key variances.
  • Provide commentary and insight on revenue, costs, margins, cash flow, and balance sheet movements.
  • Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and submitted in line with corporate deadlines.
  • Act as the main finance point of contact for European entities.
  • Build strong relationships with local entity leaders, operational teams, and corporate finance.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to local teams.
  • Translate financial data into meaningful insight to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Support local teams with finance-related queries, reporting requirements, and process improvements.
  • Oversee European audit and tax relationships.
  • Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and support the resolution of reconciling items.
  • Support intercompany processes, including reconciliations, recharges, and settlements.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving internal controls across European entities.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Support local statutory reporting, audit, tax, and compliance requirements across European entities.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisers, and other local service providers where required.
  • Ensure local reporting obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support VAT, payroll-related finance matters, and other local compliance requirements in partnership with internal and external specialists.

Requirements

  • Charted Accountancy Qualification (or similar) Essential.
  • 6 - 9 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management roles.
  • Experience supporting multiple entities, regions, or international business units.
  • Strong financial reporting and analysis skills.
  • Solid understanding of month-end close, balance sheet management, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide clear, practical insight.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple entities.
  • Experience supporting finance and accounting operations within European entities.
  • Knowledge of European statutory reporting, VAT, tax, or local compliance requirements.
  • Experience working in a global or US-headquartered organization.
  • Proficiency using ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative, and globally distributed environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build strong partnerships across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify root causes, assess financial impacts, and develop practical solutions.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in an additional European language is preferred.
