As a Field Service Technician, you will perform routine preventive service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors and related equipment, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This remote position requires travel within a 1-2 hour radius of Wytheville, VA, and involves performing on-site services, communicating with customers, and completing necessary documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive service, troubleshoot, and repair air compressors, air dryers, drains, controllers, and low-pressure blowers.
  • Set, install, and pipe compressor systems.
  • Develop an understanding of VSD’s, refrigeration, industrial networks, remote monitoring, and air audits.
  • Pressure wash and clean customer equipment pads, skids, coolers, concrete, and tanks.
  • Communicate with customers and Service Manager regarding services performed and present repair options.
  • Complete service-related documentation, including service reports, start-up forms, warranty forms, oil sample forms, and parts return documents.
  • Attend training at Air Academy and train with Senior Service Technicians.
  • Promote and practice proper safety procedures and correct use of personal protective equipment.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and respond to customer needs.
  • Participate in a rotating 24/7/365 on-call pool, including out-of-town and overnight travel.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of technical experience in the mechanical, maintenance, or electrical field.
  • Experience with the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of industrial equipment (electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics preferred).
  • Experience in HVAC is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks within assigned deadlines.
  • Customer-focused with ownership of meeting customer needs.
  • Proficient in using computers for work orders and ordering parts.
  • Supply all basic required tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments with physical demands.
  • Basic understanding of mechanics and electrical theory.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fluent in English.

  • Certifications are a plus (EPA Certified).

  • $24.70 - $36.55/hr salary based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Position is overtime eligible; overtime begins after 8 work hours in a day.
