Responsibilities

  • Manage and analyze Python dependencies, including PyPI and internal policies.
  • Understand Python packaging structures, module resolution, and import mechanisms.
  • Analyze changelogs and release notes for breaking API changes.
  • Utilize Python language internals and standard library modules effectively.
  • Work with Python versions from 3.11 to 3.13+.

Requirements

  • Deep Python Proficiency (level 5/5)
  • Proficiency in Python Packaging & Imports (level 5/5)
  • Proficiency in External Dependency Management (level 5/5)
  • Familiarity with PyPI, setuptools, pip, and pyproject.toml
  • Understanding of Python language internals and standard library modules
  • Experience with migration nuances between Python 3.11, 3.12, and 3.13+

Desired Qualifications

  • Google3 Python Dependency Policies (Good to have, level 3/5)
  • Google-Internal Tooling & Automation (Good to have, level 3/5)
