Qualcomm is seeking a Principal Engineer for Linux IOT projects in Hyderabad. This role involves leading and driving large IOT projects through their entire lifecycle, from conceptualization to commercialization, collaborating with diverse engineering and customer teams. The position requires hands-on technical expertise in embedded Linux systems, C/C++ coding, kernel development, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Lead and drive large IOT projects based on Linux.
Work with diverse engineering teams, product marketing, business teams, and Customer Engineering teams.
Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle from software conceptualization to product commercialization with customers.
Execute software products for new SoCs from pre-silicon till commercialization.
Debug and resolve intricate issues with a hands-on approach.
Develop software for embedded products using Linux/Android.
Apply proficiency in coding, design, and implementation in C/C++, Android/Linux, and drivers/frameworks.
Understand system architecture, kernel development, and device drivers.
Gain exposure to chipset architecture and end-to-end system aspects from a software perspective.
Work in areas such as Multimedia, Linux, Core Platform, Ethernet Protocols, Power/Performance.

Requirements

Bachelors/Masters degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong development experience with C/C++ and good programming skills.
Strong communication and analytics skills.
Proven experience in Linux development, with a focus on Yocto, Ubuntu, and Debian distributions.
Strong understanding of Linux kernel and internals.
Strong understanding of SOC systems and related concepts, including bring-up.
Good knowledge of Multimedia subsystems like Camera, Video, Audio, Display, and Graphics.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting software and system issues.
Strong hands-on experience with the full software development life cycle including design, implementation, deployment, and support.
Strong aptitude, quick learner, self-motivated, and willing to explore various technology areas.
Deductive problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills for collaboration.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering experience, OR Master's degree and 7+ years of experience, OR PhD and 6+ years of experience.
4+ years of work experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
