Director, Product Management - Processors - Industrial & Edge AI
Technology, Data & Digital · Product & Design · Product Management · Data Science · Machine Learning
In short
Responsibilities
- Own processor definition, roadmap, positioning, business case, pricing inputs, and lifecycle management.
- Develop MRDs and PRDs that convert customer workloads into measurable silicon, package, board, software, reliability, longevity, and platform requirements.
- Lead trade-offs across performance, power, cost, die size, memory, I/O, connectivity, package, thermal design, and software scope.
- Drive cross-functional execution with engineering and software leads to deliver the SoC, reference hardware, BSP, middleware, and validation plan required for customer launches.
- Define requirements across CPU, GPU, NPU, DSP and real-time compute, vision, memory hierarchy, security, virtualization, and high-speed I/O.
- Architect for latency, determinism, bandwidth, quality of service, functional isolation, and mixed-criticality systems combining Linux or Windows with RTOS domains.
- Translate motor and motion-control workloads into requirements for timers, PWM, encoders, sensor interfaces, ADC integration, safety mechanisms, and control-loop responsiveness.
- Define industrial networking requirements including industrial Ethernet, TSN, precise time synchronization, redundancy, and protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus, CAN/CAN-FD, and IO-Link.
- Work with Software PDM and Engineering to translate Edge AI, machine vision, inspection, and industrial automation workloads into compute, memory, vision, and software requirements.
- Define benchmark, model-performance, latency, power-efficiency, tooling, and deployment requirements for production AI platforms.
- Engage industrial OEMs, automation companies, module vendors, and Edge AI platform providers; convert strategic needs into reusable roadmap decisions.
- Support design wins, product launches, customer escalations, supply and lifecycle planning, and roadmap transitions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
- Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
Desired Qualifications
- 15+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor product management, SoC architecture, embedded processors, or industrial systems.
- Demonstrated ownership of chipset products from definition through launch, production ramp, and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of heterogeneous compute, real-time processing, low-latency industrial systems, motor control, and industrial connectivity.
- Experience leading decisions across architecture, silicon, hardware, software, package, validation, operations, sales, and business teams.
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Benefits
- Competitive annual discretionary bonus program
- Opportunity for annual RSU grants
- Highly competitive benefits package designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
