Saab is seeking an experienced Director, Mergers & Acquisitions to lead strategic transactions, including acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and minority investments, across its international portfolio. This role requires strong analytical, financial modeling, valuation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with 8-15+ years of relevant experience. The position is based in Stockholm or Linköping, Sweden.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and take ownership of the end-to-end execution of acquisitions, divestments, minority investments and joint ventures.
  • Manage all phases of the deal process including valuation, due diligence, negotiation, structuring, signing, closing and post-closing follow-up.
  • Partner closely with Business Areas and Business Units to assess strategic opportunities, challenge assumptions and support informed investment decisions, while ensuring high-quality and best-practice transaction execution.
  • Lead and coordinate internal stakeholders and external advisors throughout the transaction process.
  • Contribute to minority investments, venture investments and portfolio management activities, including evaluating opportunities and supporting the development of existing investments.
  • Continuously develop and improve the Group's M&A processes, tools and methodologies to strengthen transaction quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of leading complex transactions end-to-end, from origination and strategic assessment through negotiation and closing.
  • Strong capabilities in financial modelling, valuation and deal structuring, combined with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the legal and commercial aspects of acquisitions, divestments and minority investments.
  • 8–15+ years of relevant experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, transaction advisory or a similar field.
  • International transaction experience, ideally gained across multiple markets and business environments.
  • This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection.
  • Additional obligations on citizenship may apply for positions requiring security clearance.
