This full-time, on-site role involves supporting engineering activities, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with teams to deliver cost-effective solutions based on customer specifications and international standards.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering activities in projects of various sizes and complexities.
- Complete tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
- Collect data and support the production of engineering designs.
- Review customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements.
- Identify and define the scope of work for Switchgear and associated components.
- Prepare Bills of Materials, Layout Drawings, Single line Drawings, Cable Scheduling, and Review documents.
- Collaborate with engineers to generate technical solutions for ABB MNS products.
- Prepare Electrical Drawings, including General Arrangement, SLD, Typical Wiring, and detailed drawings.
- Demonstrate expertise in Switchgear Product Standardization and IEC Standards.
- Apply knowledge of Fault level calculations, Switchgear ratings, protection philosophy, and component selection for LV Switchgear.
- Prepare Customer-facing Closeout / As built documents.
- Engage in customer discussions to support Project Management and Sales teams.
- Prepare Change Order documents.
- Work closely with the Project Management team for efficient project execution from bid to handover.
Requirements
- Immersed in design function within the switchgear industry.
- 6 to 10 years of experience in designing Low Voltage Switchgear (design and application of electrical power distribution / Motor control center).
- Ability to analyze customer’s technical documentation and apply ABB product offerings to meet customer expectations.
- Experience with Electrical and 2D Layout drawing tools such as EPLAN Electric P8, Auto Cad.
- Knowledge of relay Protection & Control schemes, schematics, and communication network diagrams.
- Degree in Electrical engineering from a reputed university (must be full-time).
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external customer interaction.
