As a Design Engineer in the Textile Platform team, you will develop standard solutions for textile products in home furnishing accessories, utilizing the latest technologies and materials. You will document engineering solutions and collaborate with internal and external teams to achieve strategic goals. The role requires a university degree in Textile Engineering or equivalent, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in fabrics, textile products, development, and production.
Responsibilities
- Develop smart innovative engineering solutions for textile products.
- Develop standard solutions for home furnishing accessory businesses.
- Support achievement of IKEA material and Rage strategy goals.
- Develop and document engineering solutions, such as fabric constructions and accessories.
- Work with the latest technologies, materials, simulation tools, and verification approaches.
- Collaborate with people inside and outside the Platform team.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with fabrics and textile products, covering development, production, and materials.
- University degree in Textile Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in product development for textile furniture or other consumer products.
- Good knowledge of textile production and materials, including cotton, man-made cellulose, and other natural fibres.
- Experience in documenting textile products in Windchill or similar systems.
- Experience working with textile CAD tools such as Arahne, NedGraphics, or Shima Seiki.
- Curiosity, passion for solving big challenges, and courage to explore new solutions.
- Strong motivation to find and create the best technical solutions for customers.
- Ability to take initiative and responsibility.
- Ability to collaborate in a team and deliver according to agreed goals and deadlines.
- Ability to turn complex topics into clear, structured communication and actionable outputs.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.

- Have most likely worked in the textile industry, in a business development unit or closely with textile production.
- Bring knowledge of textile products, together with an understanding of what matters to our customers.
