Ericsson's Early Career Program is seeking a Data Scientist in Madrid for an 18-month journey. You will apply data science, AI, and MLOps to enhance mobile network performance, working on traffic analysis, optimization, and AI-driven development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate machine learning and statistical models for traffic classification, network analytics, and optimization.
  • Analyze network, system, application, log, and telemetry data to identify patterns and improvement opportunities.
  • Build data preparation, feature engineering, experimentation, evaluation, and visualization workflows.
  • Apply MLOps practices for model versioning, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to data lake and data product initiatives.
  • Translate technical questions into data requirements, success criteria, recommendations, and documented solutions.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, data engineering, architecture, technology, and international teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience, in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Strong Python skills, including pandas and NumPy.
  • Familiarity with data pipelines, distributed processing tools such as Spark or Airflow, and efficient data formats such as Parquet or Arrow.
  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning, statistics, feature engineering, model evaluation, cross-validation, class imbalance, and MLOps.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow and architectures including CNNs, RNNs, or Transformers.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and reproducible development environments.
  • Practical experience gained through academic projects, internships, research, or professional work.
  • Curiosity, ownership, structured problem-solving, clear English communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with MLOps, ML pipelines, model monitoring, data lakes, large-scale telemetry, telecommunications, 4G/5G Core, anomaly detection, time-series analysis, generative AI, Git, CI/CD, containers, or infrastructure automation.
