AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a skilled Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer in India to support global data center operations. This role involves hardware troubleshooting, network issue resolution, and maintaining critical cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure high standards of safety, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and upkeep data center infrastructure as part of the Operations team.
  • Perform server rack installation and hardware break-fix on various components.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and respond to emergent situations affecting operational stability.
  • Serve as the primary contact point for internal customers and external service partners.
  • Meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets and perform first-line hardware troubleshooting.
  • Participate in on-call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change management activities.
  • Contribute to team meetings for metric analysis and goal achievement.
  • Understand and apply departmental policies, including safety and security.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis documentation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training less experienced team members (for more experienced technicians).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience.
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 20kg.
  • Willingness to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations adhering to health & safety guidelines.
  • Ability to cover 24x7 shift rotation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
  • Experience operating efficiently under pressure.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems is preferred.
