Ericsson is looking for a Data Center Technician III in New Albany, Ohio, to support the installation, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure in hyperscale and enterprise data centers. This role involves independent execution of rack-and-stack, cabling, provisioning, testing, and operational support tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Independently install and deploy servers, network devices, storage equipment, and related infrastructure.
  • Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling, ensuring proper labeling and cable management.
  • Install rack power distribution units (PDUs) and connect equipment to power sources.
  • Perform equipment provisioning, hardware component installation, and OOB management connections.
  • Execute basic testing and validation, including continuity testing and fiber verification.
  • Perform moves, adds, changes, disconnects (MACD activities), and FRU replacements.
  • Maintain accurate installation records, test results, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify and escalate design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
  • Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
  • Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and MOPs.
  • Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and manage assigned work independently.

Desired Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a physically active environment requiring lifting, standing, working at heights, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to work on ladders or elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%-100% of the time.
