In short

As a Data Center Technician (DCT) on the U.S. Government Airgap team, you will perform a key role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's dedicated online services supporting the U.S. Government. This fully on-site position requires advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, hardware installation, deployment, and decommissioning expertise, and a commitment to quality execution and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise to identify issues.
  • Decommission hardware for complex changes and/or systems.
  • Conduct hardware installation, deployment, and replacement.
  • Ensure quality execution according to organizational standards.
  • Assist technicians with complex tasks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Verify security compliance for decommissions and process data-bearing devices for destruction.
  • Maintain awareness of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Attend daily safety briefings and complete required safety training.
  • Embody culture and values of the company.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check.
  • Verification of U.S. citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in computer science or other field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • 1+ years’ experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 data center environment.
  • Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC), Data Center Foundation Certification (DCFC), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Vendor-Specific Network Certifications.
