Responsibilities include server rack installation, hardware break-fix, network troubleshooting, and responding to operational issues within a 24x7 shift rotation.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and upkeep of data center infrastructure.
- Server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, and troubleshooting network issues.
- Responding to emergent situations that affect operational stability.
- Acting as the primary contact point for internal customers and external service partners.
- Meeting SLAs against assigned trouble tickets.
- Performing on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and goal discussion.
- Contributing to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Supporting DC infrastructure equipment (e.g., racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables).
- Following ticket-based instructions for systematic problem resolution.
- Performing routine operation activities on hardware or spare parts, including rack install, server break/fix, rack decom.
- Maintaining tidiness in operation areas.
- Assisting in training less experienced team members (for more experienced technicians).
Requirements
- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience working in a colocation data center facility
- 1+ years of Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations experience
Desired Qualifications
- The role has a physical component requiring the ability to lift & rack equipment up to 20kg.
- May require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Involves covering 24x7 shift rotation.
