AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Manager to oversee operations and lead teams in India. This role involves managing data center maintenance, building new facilities, improving processes, and managing vendor relationships, requiring strong people management and incident resolution skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
- Maintain existing co-located and in-house Data Centers.
- Assist in building and bringing online new Data Centers.
- Continuously improve all processes and procedures.
- Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
- Ensure adherence to and exceed local Health & Safety standards.
- Create and maintain metrics on Data Center aspects and utilize them for positive change.
- Assist in implementing service methodologies like incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
Requirements
- 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
- 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience.
- Proven ability to develop engineers and build successful teams.
- Experience dealing with high severity situations and understanding blast implications.
- Experience in Change Management & Fault Management.
- Experience dealing with external vendors, with evidence of problem and conflict management.
- Ability to improve existing processes and demonstrate experience in process mapping and remediation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM field, or 4+ years of network and operating system support experience.
- 1+ years of Agile methods and processes experience.
- Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis, or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
- Experience implementing change management successfully transitioning programs into large-scale operations.
- Experience managing both high & low performing employees.
- Conflict management skills.
- Experience in Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma is preferable.
- Ability to positively influence the Safety culture of the Data Center organization.
