As a Consulting Manager in Hyderabad, India, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and managing AIX and Linux servers, designing scalable infrastructure solutions, and optimizing system performance. Your role will also involve developing automation scripts, ensuring security and compliance, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage AIX and Linux servers (RHEL, Oracle Linux, etc.)
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control through Centrify
- Design and deploy scalable Linux infrastructure solutions
- Support enterprise platforms
- Monitor system performance, CPU/memory utilization
- Tune system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks
- Develop automation scripts (Shell script / Ansible / Power Shell)
- Automate deployments and operational tasks
- Apply security best practices and system hardening
- Ensure compliance with organizational/security standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex Linux issues (kernel, apps, network)
- Perform root cause analysis for critical incidents
- Act as L3 / SME escalation point
- Configure and troubleshoot: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Configure and troubleshoot NFS, SAN, NAS storage
- Mentor junior engineers and teams
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
Requirements
- Experience with Linux System Administration (AIX, RHEL, Oracle Linux)
- Proficiency in managing user accounts and permissions via Centrify
- Experience in designing and deploying Linux infrastructure solutions
- Skills in system performance monitoring and optimization
- Proficiency in developing automation scripts using Shell, Ansible, or Power Shell
- Knowledge of security best practices and system hardening
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Linux issues
- Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with storage solutions (NFS, SAN, NAS)
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Ability to maintain system documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
