As a Cloud Network Engineer on the Azure Networking team, you will design, implement, automate, and operate Microsoft Azure’s global network infrastructure. This role involves working with large-scale distributed systems, troubleshooting complex network issues, and contributing to network deployments and capacity improvements to ensure reliability and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of network technologies and protocols to contribute to the design, implementation, automation, and operation of large-scale cloud network infrastructure.
  • Translate high-level network designs into detailed implementation plans and collaborate with engineering teams and partners to deploy, expand, and improve network infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex production network issues, perform root cause and trend analysis, and drive solutions that improve service reliability while minimizing customer impact.
  • Develop and improve network automation, tooling, telemetry, and machine-readable configurations to make network deployments and operations safer, faster, and more scalable.
  • Analyze network capacity, performance, and reliability signals to identify risks and recommend improvements to network architecture, hardware, software, and operational processes.
  • Participate in production operations and on-call responsibilities while collaborating across teams to continuously improve network availability, resiliency, operational excellence, and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ year(s) technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
