Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all tasks related to obtaining and maintaining certificates.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with notified bodies, third-party agencies, and other partners for product approvals.
  • Interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to products.
  • Provide advice and expertise on ATEX and IECEx to other Emerson subsidiaries.
  • Carry out ATEX audits for authorized assembly subcontractors (in English and French).
  • Perform internal audits at the request of the Quality Manager.
  • Define certification and testing programs in partnership with notified bodies.
  • Negotiate costs and timelines with Notified Bodies and define the certification budget.
  • Validate the technical content of Notified Bodies' offers and place orders.
  • Build certification files with the support of the Design Office.
  • Validate the conformity of ATEX and IECEx certificates.
  • Manage UKCA and Brazilian (INMETRO) certification processes.
  • Help maintain the laboratory's qualification by participating in audits.
  • Verify and validate test programs transmitted by the Laboratory Responsible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical or industrial engineering, preferably in the field of oil and gas within the certification department or professional experience with notified bodies.
  • Good knowledge of Emerson products and services and/or the competition.
  • Experience and expertise in obtaining approvals across areas such as Explosion Protection (ATEX, IECEx).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural team.
  • Effective written and oral communication, able to build relationships with employees and customers at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Fluent English language skills—spoken and written.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of European and international electrical standards (e.g., EN, IEC).
  • Strong emphasis on attention to detail, a problem-solving approach, and a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Familiarity with Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of negotiation techniques.
