The RoW Central Data Engineering team is seeking a Professional BIE Engineer to design, build, and maintain production-grade data systems. This role involves working with Redshift, Aurora RDS, and various AWS services to support business operations across emerging markets and requires strong technical depth and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build robust batch, intraday, and near-real-time ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  • Optimize and tune SQL and ETL workloads on Amazon Redshift, managing WLM queues, distribution/sort keys, and query performance.
  • Manage the big data lifecycle, including data modeling, schema design, partitioning, retention policies, and data quality checks.
  • Build automation and self-healing systems using AWS services like Lambda, ECS, and Step Functions.
  • Use AWS services (Redshift, Aurora RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS Fargate, SQS, SNS, CDK/CloudFormation, Secrets Manager, EventBridge) to build scalable data infrastructure.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives for SQL workloads, cluster utilization, and pipeline design.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver clean, documented data pipelines.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, respond to production incidents, and implement permanent fixes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools.
  • Experience with industry analytics visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g., t-test, Chi-squared).
  • Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R).

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or advanced technical degree.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and correlation analysis.
