Nordea's Group Technology is seeking an Associate Forward Deployed AI Scientist to join their AI & Advanced Analytics team. This role involves learning to design, develop, and scale AI applications from concept to production, contributing to impactful AI use cases within the bank, and collaborating with cross-functional teams under mentorship. The position is full-time, permanent, with a hybrid work mode, based in various locations across Scandinavia and Poland.
Responsibilities
- Learn to design, develop, and scale transformative AI applications from concept to production to create technology that makes a real impact.
- Contribute to development of AI applications that solve meaningful problems, partnering with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle under mentorship.
- Support engineers and product teams in translating business needs into practical AI solutions.
- Explore emerging AI tools and frameworks with guidance; share insights and assist in building proof-of-concepts to drive AI execution.
- Develop foundational skills and knowledge covering advanced machine learning models and algorithms for various business applications.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent academic experience (completed or graduating by summer 2027).
- Academic projects, internships, or personal projects involving AI/ML concepts and basic implementation.
- Foundational software engineering skills with basic proficiency in Python and willingness to learn scalable, maintainable coding practices.
- Eagerness to learn model implementation and optimization for production use.
- Basic understanding or willingness to learn cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), particularly AI/ML and data services.
- Excellent collaboration skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse teams including data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders.
- Around three or less years of professional experience.
- Growth mindset, collaborative problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities.
Desired Qualifications
- Academic interest or coursework in Generative AI and Machine Learning technologies.
- Project experience from agile environments or participation in tech-driven transformation projects.
- Academic exposure or personal projects with agent development frameworks and harnesses such as LangGraph, Deep Agents, AutoGen, CrewAI or similar, including multi-agent coordination and sub-agent delegation.
- Basic understanding of testing methodologies and interest in learning performance monitoring and maintaining reliability in production environments.
