Amazon is seeking Area Managers for its Fulfillment Centers in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This role is responsible for managing a functional area's operations, including budgetary, people development, and operational objectives, with a strong focus on safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity. The position requires at least one year of employee and performance management experience and a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives for a functional area within a Fulfillment Center (Inbound or Outbound).
  • Manage and lead a team of Process Assistants, coaching and mentoring to ensure performance objectives are met.
  • Build positive employee relations and leadership bench strength.
  • Drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, and process change initiatives.
  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Process Assistants.
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Process Assistants accountable.
  • Source and nurture ideas for improvement plans.
  • Ensure best practices are shared across departments, shifts, and the network.
  • Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, S&LP, Ops, IT) to build and secure resources for projects and initiatives.
  • Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
