We are seeking an Application Engineering Engineer to provide technical support for Synopsys EDA design and verification tools. You will troubleshoot customer issues, collaborate with global teams, and ensure successful tool adoption. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and knowledge of Verilog are required.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for EDA design and verification tools including VCS, Verdi, Spyglass, Certitude, and Z01X, troubleshooting customer issues and working toward resolution
Take ownership of tool migrations and validation across different release versions, ensuring customers can move forward without breaking their workflows
Collaborate with application engineers, R&D teams, and customers globally to understand requirements, escalate complex issues, and support successful tool adoption
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by actively tracking issues, following up on feedback, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the support lifecycle
Learn and apply new tool features and capabilities, including AI-related functionality, as they become available
Document technical issues, solutions, and best practices to support knowledge sharing across the team

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Basic understanding of design and verification methodologies, or prior experience as an application engineer in the verification field
Working knowledge of Verilog
Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to work across functions and regions
Willingness to learn new tools, features, and emerging technologies including AI-related capabilities in EDA

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with SystemVerilog, UVM, VHDL, or UPF is a plus
Exposure to standard protocols and verification IPs such as AMBA VIP, or to static and dynamic verification concepts
You can take a messy customer problem, ask the right questions, and turn it into something actionable without needing your manager to translate
You are comfortable saying 'I don't know yet, but I will find out' and then actually following through
You stay organized when managing multiple customer issues at once, and you know which one needs attention first
You can explain a technical concept to someone who is frustrated or under deadline pressure without making it worse
You are genuinely interested in how verification tools work, not just how to use them, and that curiosity helps you troubleshoot better
