Qualcomm is looking for a Wireless Connectivity Test Engineer in Shanghai to ensure the quality and reliability of their next-generation IoT connectivity platforms. The role involves executing functional, performance, and interoperability tests for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth/BLE, and IEEE 802.15.4, developing test plans, and enhancing automated test frameworks using Python.
Responsibilities
- Execute functional, performance, interoperability, and protocol validation for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth/BLE, and IEEE 802.15.4.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases for new software features, BSP components, peripheral drivers, security features, and wireless subsystems.
- Design, maintain, and enhance automated test frameworks and test scripts using Python.
- Perform white-box testing, including code review participation, log and trace analysis, and root-cause investigation.
- Validate Zephyr RTOS-based software components.
- Execute system-level validation of security features.
- Analyze and reproduce customer-reported issues and collaborate with development teams to identify root causes and verify fixes.
- Perform debugging and issue triage for pre-silicon and post-silicon software releases.
- Develop and maintain test environments, testbeds, and lab infrastructure.
- Generate validation reports, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments.
- Collaborate with WLAN, BTSS FW, OpenThread, Security, BSP, HAL, and platform teams.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on software testing, validation, debugging, or system integration experience in embedded or wireless products.
- Strong understanding of embedded software development and debugging methodologies.
- Good knowledge of Zephyr RTOS, FreeRTOS, or similar RTOS.
- Good knowledge of Linux development environment.
- Good knowledge of embedded system architecture.
- Experience in wireless connectivity testing, with strong knowledge in Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Bluetooth/BLE, or IEEE 802.15.4 / Thread / Zigbee.
- Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP / DHCP / DNS/ UDP/TCP Socket APIs.
- Experience developing automation scripts using Python.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to analyze logs, traces, protocol captures, and software execution behavior.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across global teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) feature validation.
- Experience in WPA Supplicant and security testing.
- Experience in Bluetooth/BLE qualification or interoperability testing.
- Experience in OpenThread or Zigbee certification testing.
- Experience in Zephyr testing frameworks (Ztest) and CI/CD validation.
- Experience in BSP and peripheral driver validation (UART/SPI/I2C/USB/SDIO/DMA/Flash).
- Experience in Security Validation.
- Experience in Automated regression testing.
- Experience in Continuous Integration pipelines.
- Experience in Test framework development.
- Familiarity with Zephyr upstream workflows.
- Experience using AI-assisted development/testing tools to improve productivity is a plus.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
