Emerson is seeking a Welding Specialist I for their 2nd shift in Boulder, CO. This role involves producing code-qualified welds, performing visual inspections, adhering to safety procedures, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an AAS degree in welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce code qualified welds in 1G or 2G positions using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding manually and with automated equipment.
  • Perform visual weld inspection before, during, and after each welding operation.
  • Follow safety procedures and identify safety concerns.
  • Cooperate and communicate well with co-workers and support staff.
  • Participate in improvement activities using programs like Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Maintain proper process documentation by recording heat lots, welder ID, date, etc.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance, safety, housekeeping, and general work habits.
  • Participate on New Product Introduction (NPI) Teams and support builds.
  • Ensure product and process quality is maintained/improved.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensure calibration of equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized according to 5s+1 principles.
  • Lift up to 35lbs frequently.
  • Bend, crouch, push, pull, and reach regularly throughout the shift.
  • Wear personal protective equipment correctly throughout the entire shift.
  • Perform repetitive motion of fingers, hands, arms and shoulders for reaching, handling, and assembly.
  • Safely and efficiently operate a powered industrial forklift and other powered industrial trucks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer welding experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • AAS degree in welding preferred.
  • Micro Motion’s WPS 4018 certification is preferred.
