Responsibilities
- Weld production and prototype instrumentation piece parts in various materials including stainless steel, precious and semi-precious metals using TIG and/or MIG welding processes.
- Advise Engineering on technical welding aspects of new units and fixtures, including set-ups.
- Provide welding support to other welders and may train them as needed.
- Troubleshoot problem welding areas.
- Ensure welds pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individual product.
- Maintain individual welding qualification and certification per product requirements.
- Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototype piece parts.
- Define equipment settings based on specific product needs and work with Engineering to establish welding process parameters.
- Provide welding services to other product lines in other departments as required.
- Serve as a consultant to the failure analysis team on weld failures.
- Perform miscellaneous work as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) and four (4) years of welding experience, OR Verified completion of a Welding certificate program and minimum two (2) years of welding experience.
- Must obtain and maintain applicable company welding certifications.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with TIG and/or MIG welding processes.
- Ability to pass destructive and non-destructive testing.
- Experience advising Engineering on welding aspects.
- Troubleshooting skills for welding issues.
- Ability to work Monday - Thursday 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM.
