Responsibilities
- Manage and synchronize employee productivity and accuracy across production, machine-shop, paint-shop, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and plant-wide inventory functions.
- Control and support production operations by developing production plans, scheduling, assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, and reporting results.
- Develop and continuously improve systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, control processes, budgetary requirements, and personnel needs.
- Coordinate daily freight carrier scheduling and export documentation while managing back orders, waves, OSP, receiving, RMA, picking, and product receipts.
- Lead and support warehouse operations by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring workflow, revising schedules, and resolving operational issues.
- Manage shipping and receiving activities, including short and over shipments and quality issues.
- Organize departmental workflow and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, and other functions to coordinate material flow and resolve operational constraints.
- Develop strategies to identify process and cost-reduction opportunities and implement solutions to improve operational performance.
- Ensure shop-floor Health & Safety compliance by maintaining a safe and clean work environment and educating personnel on equipment use.
Requirements
- 6+ years of recent management experience with direct responsibility for both production operations and warehouse management within a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Substantial, hands-on leadership experience in both production and warehouse management.
- Relevant post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from an accredited college or university.
- Oracle ERP systems experience (Procurement, Materials Management, etc.) is required.
- Organizational skills are required to plan, set priorities, and schedule.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to interact positively with co-workers and management.
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to teach new methods to others.
- Practices excellent housekeeping throughout the facility in alignment with 5S+1.
- Problem solving skills, strong initiative and the ability to apply them effectively in the workplace.
- Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act is essential.
- Ability to conceptualize new ideas to improve current processes and support continuous improvement.
- Demonstrable knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now and in the future.
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Supply Chain Professional certified (CSCP).
- Previous experience in an electrical environment is an asset.
