Emerson is looking for a Utility Worker (Powered Equipment Operator) to join their team in Olive Branch, MS, for a mid-shift role. This position involves operating motorized equipment like forklifts and reach lifts for moving supplies and goods within the warehouse, performing basic maintenance, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. The role requires a high school diploma, 6 months of related experience, and a forklift certification.
Responsibilities
- Move supplies within the warehouse using motorized equipment such as forklifts and reach lifts.
- Transport goods, empty gaylords, and recyclable materials using a forklift.
- Move pallets, trash bins, and supplies onto and out of trucks.
- Operate baler machinery for managing industrial waste streams and sorting recyclable materials.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including cleaning equipment and running sweeper/scrubber.
- Conduct basic building maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
- Maintain safe actions on and off equipment in compliance with safety rules/regulations.
- Meet department quality, attendance, and productivity requirements.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by managerial staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 6 months of related experience.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Distribution center experience.
- Prior forklift certification with 6 months previous warehouse experience.
- Previous shipping/material handling experience.
- Good communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, push and pull for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift product/cartons weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
- Follow directions and see the task through safely.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
