Emerson Professional Tools is seeking a motivated Utility Sales Specialist to join their North American sales team, focusing on selling and promoting Greenlee & RIDGID brands. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the utility market and involves direct customer contact, field demonstrations, and coordination with Territory Managers. This is a remote position based in the Birmingham, AL area.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the direction, coordination, and growth of all utility market sales through direct customer contact and close coordination with local ProTools Territory Managers.
- Provide coaching and direction to regional Territory Managers in a matrix-managed environment.
- Perform field product demonstrations, training, and technical support with end-users and distribution channel partners.
- Drive strategic new products sales and solutions to expand markets and share.
- Develop, present, and execute annual business plans to deliver incremental sales growth.
- Develop and manage a monthly/yearly sales forecast.
- Develop and own relationships with both Key Distributor Partners and End Users.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the product, applications, and pricing program for the given market.
- Support regional & national organizations through training and special projects execution.
- Use computers frequently and interface with other employees and customers by telephone, mail, electronic mail, and/or in person.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum 3 years of related Sales, Marketing, Sales, or Electrical field experience in the utilizes market.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work in a matrix-managed environment, including coaching, mentoring, and providing selling support to Territory Managers.
- Solid business acumen, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated success in formulating, presenting, executing, & measuring Business Plans.
- A proven track record and successful history of achieving goals and sales targets in the Electrical Utility market.
- Experience with distribution channels, with emphasis on Electrical, industrial, and plumbing.
- Safely lift, carry, and maneuver various industrial tools and product inventory to unload, assemble / disassemble, and position equipment for live client demonstrations and trade shows.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to include overnight stay, sometimes a week or more at a time.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available for this role).
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, or other relevant disciplines.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or technical support of B2B Sales in the Electrical Utility Market.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical, utility, or plumbing tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint; CRM Application experience a plus.
