Emerson is seeking a motivated Electrical Utility Sales Specialist for their North American Professional Tools sales team, reporting to the Mountain Region Sales Manager. The role involves selling, promoting, and demonstrating Greenlee & RIDGID brands, building customer relationships, and driving sales growth within the utility market. The ideal candidate resides in the Portland, OR area and will work remotely.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the direction, coordination, and growth of all utility market sales through direct customer contact and close coordination with local ProTools Territory Managers.
- Provide coaching and direction to regional Territory Managers in a matrix-managed environment.
- Perform field product demonstrations, training, and technical support with end-users and distribution channel partners.
- Drive strategic new products sales and solutions to expand markets and share.
- Develop, present, and execute annual business plans to deliver incremental sales growth.
- Develop and manage a monthly/yearly sales forecast.
- Develop and own relationships with both Key Distributor Partners and End Users.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the product, applications, and pricing program for your given market.
- Support regional & national organizations through training and special projects execution.
Requirements
- Existing professional relationships and technical skills in the electrical utility market.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Industrial Distribution, or other relevant disciplines; OR a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a matrix-managed environment, including coaching, mentoring, and providing selling support to Territory Managers.
- Solid business acumen, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated success in formulating, presenting, executing, & measuring Business Plans.
- Proven track record and successful history of achieving goals and sales targets in the Electrical Utility market.
- Proficiency in MS Excel & PowerPoint; CRM Application experience is a plus.
- Five years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or technical support of B2B Sales in the Electrical Utility Market preferred.
- Experience with distribution channels, with emphasis on Electrical, industrial, and plumbing.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
