Are you passionate about transportation and operational excellence? We are looking for an ambitious, proactive, and self-driven Transportation Manager to join our Strategic Centre of Excellence – European Transport Control Centre team within Logistics.

The team is responsible for driving transportation best practices and operational excellence across Arla’s core European markets. In this role, you will lead the ETCC transportation team, overseeing transportation planning and execution between Arla facilities and customers across domestic and cross-border flows through external logistics partners.

You will also oversee transport cost control, carrier performance, operational issue resolution, and process optimization while ensuring high service quality and supporting efficiency and sustainability targets.  

How you will make an impact 

As Transportation Manager, you will lead daily transportation operations while driving continuous improvement and strategic development across European markets. Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading and developing the ETCC transportation team, ensuring high service levels, operational efficiency, safety, compliance, and alignment with supply chain strategy through KPI management and Lean-driven continuous improvement.
  • Standardizing transportation processes, operational ways of working, and performance metrics across markets, while overseeing carrier performance, SLA compliance, customer service quality, and transportation cost optimization.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for local logistics teams and managing relationships with logistics service providers (3PLs), including performance reviews, corrective actions, tender support activities, and cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, SRM, and Finance.
  • Supporting the expansion of the European Transport Control Centre by leading transportation transitions across assigned markets, ensuring smooth integration, operational continuity, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Driving strategic transportation improvement initiatives focused on digitalization, sustainability, CO2 reduction, resource optimization, and continuous enhancement of service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

What will make you successful 

 You are an experienced transportation leader with a proven track record in managing teams and transportation operations within complex supply chain environments. You combine strong operational knowledge with a proactive, results-driven mindset and excellent stakeholder management skills.

Additionally, we expect that you have

  • Proven experience managing transportation operations and collaborating with logistics service providers (3PLs).
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, preferably within the food industry or other regulated supply chains.
  • Experience driving operational improvements, change management, and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound operational decisions.
  • A commercial and performance-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working with MS Office, SAP, logistics visibility platforms, and data-driven or AI-based tools.
  • Fluency in English; German is considered a strong advantage.
