Responsibilities

  • Provide first- or second-line technical support for structural simulation products to customers in Japan and the Japan support team.
  • Understand customer questions, reproduce issues, collect technical information, and investigate solutions.
  • Communicate directly with customers to manage technical support cases from inquiry to resolution.
  • Apply knowledge of structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and simulation techniques to diagnose issues.
  • Provide updates to customers and stakeholders in English and potentially Japanese.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers or subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Learn and apply troubleshooting processes, simulation best practices, and customer support procedures.
  • Create and update technical documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base content.
  • Perform data manipulation, validation, and analysis for technical investigations.
  • Submit product improvement suggestions and defect reports.
  • Assist with verification of product fixes and testing of new releases.
  • Utilize AI-based support platforms to enhance engineering analysis and support quality.
  • Develop technical expertise in structural simulation areas.
  • Understand Japanese customers' engineering workflows and business expectations.
  • Contribute to high customer satisfaction through responsiveness and professionalism.
  • Participate in team and company initiatives.
  • Remain flexible and open to new responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Sound academic or practical knowledge of structural mechanics and finite element analysis.
  • Basic understanding of numerical simulation methods and ability to interpret engineering results.
  • Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills and systematic technical investigation ability.
  • Fluent and effective communication in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for clear technical communication.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues globally.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while seeking guidance or escalating issues.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Up to two years of experience using structural simulation, finite element analysis, or related engineering software (university research, projects, internships, or industrial experience accepted).
  • Experience using commercial or internally developed FEA software for engineering applications.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis workflows, including linear or nonlinear analysis.
  • Experience in a technical support, customer-facing, consulting, application engineering, or engineering services environment.
  • Japanese-language proficiency.
  • Experience communicating or collaborating with customers or colleagues in Japan.
  • Basic knowledge of Python, scripting, automation, SQL, databases, machine learning, or generative AI.
  • Experience participating in an engineering product development or software testing cycle.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, if required.
