ABB is seeking a Technical Support Engineer (m/f/d) in Minden, Germany, to provide technical support to internal and external customers, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, and enhance customer relationships. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of experience in process automation with specific ABB product knowledge, and excellent German and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical issues through customer communication, log analysis, and remote diagnostics.
  • Identify additional customer needs and service opportunities and communicate them to relevant ABB teams.
  • Build and maintain technical expertise across ABB’s DCS product portfolio.
  • Contribute to competence development within local and global support teams.
  • Participate in remote on-call services outside standard working hours.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in process automation.
  • Strong knowledge of ABB automation products, including AC800M, Freelance, AC500, and Symphony Plus Melody.
  • Knowledge of ABB DCS products such as ABB Ability™ System 800xA and Symphony™ Plus Operations is an advantage.
  • High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Strong sense of ownership, combined with a problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills in German (negotiation level) and English (fluent).
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ABB DCS products such as ABB Ability™ System 800xA and Symphony™ Plus Operations is an advantage.
