We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant with expertise in S/4HANA and BTP, focusing on modern development with the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and "Clean Core" principles. The role involves technical design, performance optimization, end-to-end development lifecycle leadership, and refactoring legacy code for upgrade stability.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex functional requirements into scalable technical designs prioritizing standard SAP functionality and "Clean Core" compliance.
  • Utilize HANA-specific features (code-to-data paradigm) to optimize backend ABAP code and ensure seamless Fiori user experiences.
  • Lead the full development lifecycle, from initial prototyping in RAP/CDS to unit testing, integration testing, and post-go-live hyper care.
  • Identify opportunities to refactor legacy "Z" code into modern, upgrade-stable extensions using Cloud BAdIs and modern extension points.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to SAP best practices, naming conventions, and security standards.
  • Work closely with functional consultants (FI/CO, SD, MM, or PP) to ensure technical solutions align with business process requirements.
  • Deliver Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms (Adobe Forms), and Workflows, ensuring they are optimized for the HANA database.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) and the SAP RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
  • Deep understanding of Clean Core principles.
  • Experience implementing Developer Extensibility (Embedded Steampunk) and Side-by-Side Extensibility using SAP BTP.
  • Expert knowledge of Core Data Services (CDS) Views, including VDM design, annotations, and DCL for security.
  • Full-stack capability in designing and configuring SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).
  • Proficiency in developing and consuming OData services (V2/V4) and building robust API integrations between SAP and third-party systems.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA (on-premises or cloud) is mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex standard SAP code and custom extensions.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, such as SAP Build or SAP Event Mesh, is a significant plus.
