Polaris is seeking a Senior Infor XA / IBM i Software Engineer for application support and enhancement in the Purchasing-to-Pay and Supply Chain domain. The role involves custom RPG/RPGLE/CL development on IBM i, SQL, integrations, and production support, requiring strong technical skills and functional knowledge of purchasing and inventory processes.
Responsibilities
- Support Infor XA / MAPICS functionality and customizations for Purchasing-to-Pay, including purchasing, procurement, supplier transactions, receiving, inventory, invoice processing, and supply chain workflows.
- Design, develop, test, and support custom applications and enhancements on the IBM i / iSeries platform using RPG, RPGLE, CL and SQL.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain custom programs, interfaces, reports, batch jobs, and data extracts supporting Supply Chain and Purchasing-to-Pay processes.
- Analyze existing business processes, application logic, data flows, and integrations to recommend effective system solutions.
- Provide application support for Purchasing-to-Pay processes within Infor XA / MAPICS and related custom IBM i applications.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis for system, process, data, or integration-related incidents.
- Query, analyze, validate, and communicate data findings across Purchasing, Supply Chain, Finance, and related business teams.
- Support system configuration, custom logic, data corrections, and technical analysis.
- Improve logging, error handling, monitoring, and operational visibility.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with Infor XA / MAPICS ERP applications, customizations, and related business processes.
- Strong hands-on development experience with RPG, RPGLE, CL, SQL, DB2 for i, and embedded SQL.
- Experience supporting Purchasing-to-Pay, procurement, purchasing, receiving, inventory, supplier, or invoice-related processes.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues, analyzing data, and performing root-cause analysis.
- Experience developing or supporting custom IBM i programs, reports, batch jobs, data extracts, or interfaces.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with EDI, SFTP, middleware, file-based interfaces, batch integrations, or custom IBM i interface patterns.
- Experience in SOX-controlled environments.
- Experience with source control, code reviews, deployment controls, documentation, and modern development practices.
- Experience with data reconciliation across Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Finance.
