The Technical Authority Expert for SRF SCM RAN is responsible for planning and executing software upgrades and configuration changes for 2G/3G/4G RAN networks to ensure service quality and meet SLA targets. This role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 5-10 years of hands-on experience in RAN technologies and managing live network changes.
Responsibilities
- Execute and own RAN software upgrades/updates (BSC, eNodeB) and configuration changes.
- Prioritize and handle work requests to meet SLA/WLA objectives.
- Prepare and validate upgrade/change plans, rollback procedures, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors for upgrades with minimal service impact.
- Perform post-upgrade validation, KPI checks, and troubleshooting, especially for LTE (4G) cells.
- Monitor key service performance indicators and interpret results for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate change logs, configuration records, and documentation.
- Organize training, create runbooks, and maintain backup plans.
- Participate in technical reviews and recommend process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of mobile RAN technologies (2G/3G/4G) and RAN node architecture (BSC, eNodeB).
- Hands-on experience of 5-10 years with software upgrade processes for RAN nodes and managing configuration changes in live networks.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot post-upgrade site issues, particularly LTE down site or degraded performance cases.
- Good knowledge of service network/application characteristics and KPIs, and ability to interpret KPI trends.
- Familiar with change management, release management and operational SLAs/WLAs.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with vendor tools and OSS platforms used for RAN configuration and monitoring preferred.
